The Magic Federation of Malaysia (MFM) is proud to announce that Hakim was invited as a special guest to the Sri Lanka International Magic Festival 2026, where he represented Malaysia and the Magic Federation of Malaysia on the international magic stage.
As part of his official role at the festival, Hakim was given the responsibility of selecting and presenting the MFM Special Award to an outstanding participant whose performance demonstrated exceptional technical ability, presentation and showmanship.
This international representation reflects MFM’s ongoing commitment to building stronger connections between magicians, magic organisations and performing arts communities across Asia.
Pranai Reva from India Receives the MFM Special Award
Following the competition performances, Hakim selected Pranai Reva from India as the recipient of the MFM Special Award at the Sri Lanka International Magic Festival 2026.
Pranai stood out for his clean execution, confident stage presence and well-structured performance.
According to Hakim:
“From my observation, Pranai demonstrated some of the cleanest moves in the competition. His techniques were executed flawlessly, and the performance had a clear sense of direction from beginning to end.”
Hakim also noted that many competition acts focused heavily on combining colourful or flashy magic props without establishing a clear storyline. In contrast, Pranai presented a more cohesive and purposeful performance.
“His act had a natural flow and strong direction from the opening. The use of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ as the background music immediately captured the audience’s attention and created a strong rhythmic energy throughout the performance.”
A Performance Inspired by Ernesto Planas
Pranai’s act was strongly inspired by the performance style of renowned magician Ernesto Planas. However, rather than simply reproducing an existing routine, Pranai introduced his own movements, personality and performance flair.
Hakim explained:
“Although the act was strongly inspired by Ernesto Planas, Pranai developed his own version and added personal touches that matched his momentum, character and style of showmanship.”
This ability to learn from an established performer while developing an individual artistic identity was one of the key reasons Pranai was selected for the award.
